Justin Bieber arrives in New Zealand

After being forced to cancel a concert in Australia because of fears for fans’ safety, about 500 screaming teenagers turned up to see the 16-year-old arrive in Auckland late Tuesday.

The star and his entourage were escorted out a side door at the airport as fans pressed forward in the arrivals area.

“Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people,” Bieber wrote on his Twitter account.

“Want to be able to sign and take pics and meet my fans, but if you are all pushing security wont let me. Let’s keep it safe and have fun.”

On Wednesday he performed six songs at a private concert at an Auckland school and bungy-jumped from the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Australian police on Monday shut down a concert by Bieber over crowd safety fears after young fans were injured in surges hours before the start of the free event on the Sydney Harbour foreshore.

His debut single “One Time” was a huge hit last year and his album “My World 2.0” has spent four weeks at the top of the US charts since its release last month.
